Don’t miss it! Our church will be hosting the annual baccalaureate service for South Royalton School’s graduating seniors.
Local leaders in business, spirituality, and education will gather to support and encourage these young men and women as they enter into life’s next chapter.
There will be music, poetry, and speeches delivered by both students and leaders. It should be a wonderful time together.
The service will start at 6:00 p.m.
Community supper is on as usual this week with one difference: it’s a pot luck! Same time (6 p.m.), same channel (Red Door Church), just bring a dish to share. Hope to see you there tonight!
Annual Meeting is coming up. If you desire to hear a review of 2015 and help plan for 2016, this is the meeting to come to.
The meeting will happen on Sunday, January 31st at 1:00 p.m., and will be preceded by worship and a potluck dinner. All are welcome to attend however, you must be a church member to vote.
This coming Sunday, the 6th (2015) we will be heading down to Paine’s Beach to perform a handful of baptisms!
Please join us immediately following the service. In lieu of our normal coffee hour we will have a short time of music and celebration down at the water’s edge!
Our annual community yard sale is coming up on August 1st! We will be advertising in South Royalton, Royalton, Tunbridge, Bethel, Chelsea, Sharon and beyond. So even if you are not in So Ro, you are welcome to participate.
We are creating a sharp, printable online map that will be able to display your address if you wish to participate. It’s $20 to get your name and address on the map. Please call Francis Post at 763-7689 if you wish to put your name on the map or email Lynn Irish at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Red Door Church will be hosting a conference this summer.
On July 25th we will welcome Matt Schmidt, Ratio Christi’s National Director of Chapter Formation, who will be giving several talks on the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
We will be looking at topics like “Why are they such an important group?”, “Are they Christians,” “How do their beliefs differ from our own?”, and “How do we respond to them at our door?”
The first session will begin at 9 a.m. and the conference will conclude around 3 p.m. Lunch will be provided.
If you pre-register, admission is free, or $5 at the door. You can register online here.
The VLS Campus Greening Committee is putting on a yard sale this coming Saturday, the 9th out on the South Royalton town green.
Their flyer says: “Bring anything you want to sell. You keep any money you make.
Bring tarps or tables to set up your things, and enjoy some terrific sales.”
The sale will go from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
(If it’s raining on the 9th it will be at the same time and place on the 10th)
Since Pastor Josh and his wife Megan will be out of the area for a couple of weeks, we will need a couple of volunteers to fill their slots for our weekly bible reading program at church.
Pastor Josh reads for the Wednesday slot and Megan for the Friday slot. The dates where we need coverage are as follows:
Wednesday the 15th and Friday the 17th
Wednesday the 22nd and Friday the 24th
The readings are at 12:30 each weekday and last roughly 20 minutes. The reading schedule is located under the large Bible on the lectern in the sanctuary. There are four daily readings.
If you feel led to help with this, please contact Lynn Irish.
The Pastor and his family will be on vacation down in NC for a couple of weeks beginning this Sunday, the 12th of April. Pastor Josh will facilitate the service on the 12th and then depart that evening with his family. Russ Rohloff will be leading the services on the 19th and 26th of April. If you have any urgent needs please contact one of the elders: Scott Puopolo, Carol Miller, or Russ Rohloff. Carol will also be gone on vacation until the 19th, fyi.
The Pastor will be checking email periodically.
